The Frenchman confirmed this to L'Equipe
Thibaut Pinot made a surprise statement during the Groupama-FDJ 2023 presentation, telling L'Equipe that he intends to retire at the end of this season at the age of 33.
"It's a decision I've carefully considered over the years," Pinot said in a post by his team on social media.
"I'm excited about what's new after my career, but I'm equally excited about racing this past year."
The Frenchman finished on the podium at the 2014 Tour de France , winning 33 career races including stages in all three grand tours. In 2018 the conquest of Lombardia arrived in a career full of beautiful moments but also of physical and psychological crises.
A certainly particular runner, a nature lover who has also become famous for being a great lover of goats (see his Instagram profile).
