Filippo Ganna won the first stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, an 11 km individual time trial with start and finish in Lido di Camaiore. The Italian champion of the specialty dominated the time trial, stopping the clock at 12'17" at an average speed of over 56 km per hour.

Good Juan Ayuso, second of the day, and detached by 23 seconds. On the podium of the first fraction also Johan Price Pejtersen, Danish of Alpecin, at 28 seconds.
