Jan Christen won the fifth stage of the Tour de Pologne, from Opole to Kocierz Resort, 218.9 km.

On the day Joao Almeida missed the start, following yesterday's crash, six riders left: Cavagna, Magnier, Gamper, De Bondt, Naberman, and Van der Hoorn. The day's breakaway riders built up a lead of over three minutes, but the peloton caught them at the foot of the final short, steep climb.

Here Christen attacks, but Brenner closes in on him, but is beaten in the final sprint by the Swiss champion. Louis Barrè finishes on the podium, while Bettiol, Scaroni, and Sobrero also make the top 10. Bart Lemmen remains the overall leader, 6 seconds ahead of Scaroni and 15 seconds ahead of Brenner. Christen climbs to fourth place, 18 seconds behind.
