Viviani and Mclay complete the podium. Fall for Plapp

Welsford wins stage three of the 145.3km Tour Down Under from Tea Tree Gully to Campbelltown.

As expected, the third stage ends with a group sprint: once again the Bora Hansgrohe is perfect in the last kilometres, thanks to the train made up of Mullen-Van Poppel-Welsford with the latter winning the sprint ahead of Viviani and Mclay .

Of note, -13 km from the finish line, a fall involving various Astana riders and Luke Plapp , who finished almost 10 minutes late and had to say goodbye to his ambitions of glory in his home race.

Isaac Del Toro, who reached the finish line 33rd today, together with the main group, retains the leader's jersey.
