Important news in women's cycling with the equalization of scores
The UCI has announced major changes to the scoring system that will come into force on 20 October 2025, introducing a significant revolution especially in women's cycling.
The most important change concerns the equalization of scores between men's and women's World Tour races, with the introduction of five different levels for women's competitions. In particular:
• Female monumentsFor the first time, four Monuments of women's cycling (Milan-Sanremo, Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and Liège-Bastogne-Liège) are officially recognized, which will award 800 points to the winner.
• Grand ToursThe Tour de France Femmes becomes the most prestigious race with 1300 points for the winner, while the Giro d'Italia Women and Vuelta Femenina will award 1100.
• Other World Tour events: Divided into three brackets of 400, 500 and 800 points for victory.
Important safety innovations have also been introduced, with the arrival of the role of the 'regulator' from 2026 and new protocols for the neutralization of races, which will have to be limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.
These changes represent an important step towards equality in professional cycling, making the system more fair and structured also in the women's sector. For fantasy cycling fans, it will be essential to take this new distribution of points into account in game strategies.
