The UCI has provisionally suspended Antonio Carvalho Ferreira for unexplained anomalies in his biological passport in the 2018, 2023 and 2024 seasons. The 36-year-old Portuguese rider rode last season with Feirense Beeceler, a Portuguese continental team he has been a member of since 2023.  

"With the proceedings underway, the UCI will not issue any further communications," reads the official statement from the International Cycling Union. Carvalho Ferreira's suspension comes just days after Oier Lazkano 's suspension, also for anomalies in his biological passport.
