Ethan Vernon (NSN Cycling Team) wins the fourth stage of the Tour Down Under, from Brighton to Willunga (130.8km).
The leg was shortened and the climb up Willunga Hill was omitted due to safety reasons related to the heat and the possibility of fires.

After a few kilometers, the reigning winner Narvaez crashed and was forced to retire.

Plapp , Cavagna and Greenwood attempted to break away, but the group gave them very little space and ended the action 25 km from the finish.

From a decisive stage for the general classification, it turns into another finish for sprinters, with Vernon winning on the slightly uphill final straight ahead of Andresen and Pithie .
