Jonas Vingegaard has just announced that he will not race the UAE Tour, as originally planned for his start of the season. This means he will miss the big showdown with Del Toro and Evenepoel.

In addition to the downhill crash during training, the Dane has recently been ill and has therefore decided to postpone his seasonal debut: the flu of the last few days, in fact, has not allowed him to train properly.

It remains to be seen whether the Team Visma rider will go directly to the Volta Catalunya , starting on March 23, or whether he will compete, as an alternative to the UAE Tour, in one of the Tirreno-Adriatico and Paris-Nice races.
