Andrew August (Ineos Grenadiers) wins the third stage of the 158km Volta Comunitat Valenciana, from Orihuela to San Vicente del Raspeig.

Not much happened on the two climbs of the day, with few attacks and the day's breakaway being caught.

On the following slightly downhill section, a quartet made up of Vermeersch , August , Vervenne and Holter escaped from the main group and gained around twenty seconds.

From behind, only Girmay 's NSN was able to pull ahead and fail to close the gap, with the four riders managing to reach the home straight with a comfortable lead. August was the first to launch the sprint, holding out until the finish line and beating Holter and Vermeersch.
Girmay controls the main group and defends the leader's jersey.
