Jonas Vingegaard vince la settima tappa del Giro d'Italia, da Formia al Blockhaus (244 km).

Nelle prime fasi si sgancia una fuga poco pericolosa con Naberman, Van der Lee, Milan, Sevilla e Zukowsky.

Iniziato il Blockhaus è la Red Bull a fare il ritmo e chiude sulla fuga. Poi la Visma allunga con Kuss e Piganzoli e Vingegaard attacca a 6 km.

In un paio di km il danese fa saltare anche Pellizzari, ultimo a resistere.
Vingegaard vince in solitaria davanti a Gall a 13" e Hindley a oltre 1'.
