Jan Christen won the fifth and final stage of the AlUla Tour, from AlUla Old Town to Skyviews of Harrat Uwayrid, 163.9 km.

The stage was enlivened by a seven-man breakaway, including Juan Pedro Lozano and Federico Iacomoni, the last to be caught on the final climb of the day.

On the tough Harrat Uwayrid climb, the best riders were Mauri Vansevenant, Sergio Higuita, and Byron Munton, 27, of Modern Adventure, while overall leader Yannis Voisard and Afonso Eulalio broke away. Christen caught up with them on the slight slope before the finish line and pulled away, only reaching the finish line. Munton finished second ahead of Igor Arrieta, who led the pack with Higuita and an excellent Iacomoni, who finished fifth.

In the general classification, Christen leads Higuita by 15 seconds and Arrieta, his teammate at UAE Emirates, by 21 seconds.
