At the moment, Sunday's Cadel Evans is not at risk
In Australia, extreme heat and the resulting fire risk continue to be a concern. Due to these issues, the Tour Down Under had to cancel the climb up Willunga Hill, a high-risk area.
At the Surf Coast Classic , both the men's and women's races, scheduled for January 28th and 29th, fared even worse: the two races were canceled permanently. Temperatures nearing 45°C, combined with a request from local police for fire emergencies, forced organizers to cancel the two races.
At the moment the planning of the Cadel Evans men's and women's races this weekend is proceeding smoothly and the classic that closes the Australian calendar should not be at risk, barring further deterioration.
