From Van Aert to Ganna, a great challenge between champions
After the road race it's time for the individual time trial at the World Championships in Glasgow. Wout Van Aert , second last Sunday, is also one of the big favorites for the time trial on August 11th; 47.8 km for real specialists, starting and finishing in Stirling.
With him, Belgium field Remco Evenepoel , another who can aim for victory even if the competition will not fail.
Tadej Pogacar will also be at the start, third in the road race and in excellent condition after the Tour de France. Italy can play its chances thanks to Filippo Ganna, who after winning another world title on the track, will prove success also in the road time trial.
Startlist in hand, Switzerland can count on two specialists in Bissegger and Kung (fifth in the road race and in great shape), Portugal will have Joao Almeida and Great Britain on Geraint Thomas .
Also watch out for Australia with Rohan Dennis and Jay Vine , Denmark with Kasper Asrgeen and Mikkel Bjerg and also McNulty from the United States, as well as the Norwegian Tobias Foss , who however didn't shine in the last few races of the season.
