Official announcement imminent

One of the most intricate transfer market disputes of 2025 should have reached its end: Derek Gee 's signing with Lidl-Trek seems certain.

The Canadian, after a solid Giro d'Italia which ended in 4th place, broke with his former team Israel Premier Tech , terminating the contract that tied him until 2028. However, Israel contested the resolution and a legal case broke out which effectively ousted the 1997-born rider from racing.
In fact, after the Giro d'Italia, Gee only participated in the national time trial championships (where he finished 2nd) and the road race, in which he became champion.

In the summer, rumours almost certainly suggested his move to Ineos Grenadiers, but the move never materialised, with the British opting for the younger Onley and Vauquelin.

Now it seems like a done deal for him to join Lidl-Trek , which further strengthens its team of climbers and stage racers, with Derek Gee joining Ayuso, Ciccone, Skjelmose and Geoghegan Hart.
The official announcement should come in the next few hours.
