Jhonatan Narvaez (UAE Team Emirates) wins the eighth stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Chieti to Fermo (156 km).

Today, many riders attempted to break away, but no one was able to make the right move in the early stages. Before the climbs began, Bjerg , Leknessund, and Narvaez managed to break away, gaining a minute on a 40-man counterattacking group and over 3 minutes on the pink jersey group.

Narvaez only needed a single sprint to break away from Leknessund and go on to win alone, ahead of the Norwegian and Tjotta.

In the group, only Hindley breaks away towards the end, but to no avail.
