Remember to line up your lineup in leagues

After weeks of chaos and concern related to the organization of the race, the women's Giro d'Italia officially starts on Friday 30 June.

The 34th edition includes nine stages, 24 teams will be present, 15 of which from the UCI Women's World Team and 9 from the Continental circuit. The conclusion will be on 9 July after having passed through five regions: Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont, Liguria and Sardinia.

The route includes a short time trial in Chianciano which will award the first pink jersey and then go up again with at least two stages for sprinters, two for forwards and at least four stages dedicated to climbers. In between a day of rest.

The defending champion, Annemiek Van Vleuten , in her last season in her career, will have to deal with fierce opponents who will be able to compete for the final success. This is the case of the talented Gaia Realini and the new Italian champion Elisa Longo Borghini of Lidl Trek, of Mavi Garcia of Liv Racing Tefind, on the podium of the last edition, of Juliette Labous (Team Dsm Woman) stage winner in the climb of the Maniva pass last year, and Cecilie Ludwig (Fdj Suez).

For the arrivals in the sprint, all eyes will be on the European champion Lorena Wiebes (Team Sd Worx) who can already boast two stage victories at the Giro Donne in the 2021 edition. There will also be the Hungarian champion Kata Blanka Vas and the New Zealander Niahm Fisher Black, the two athletes of the SD Worx team.

Marta Cavalli (Fdj Suez), Soraya Paladin (Canyon Sram), Alessia Vigilia (Top Girls Fassa Bortolo), the track champions Rachele Barbieri (Liv Racing) and Silvia Zanardi (BePink), as well as the athletes of Uae Team Adq are also eagerly awaited Chiara Consonni, Silvia Persico and Eleonora Camilla Gasparrini who was the protagonist of a victory at the Tour de Suisse. Marta Bastianelli (Uae Team Adq) will also receive a lot of applause as she will start her eleventh, and last, Women's Giro d'Italia.

We remind you to line up your lineup in the Women's Fantasy Cycling League (or any other women's league you participate in) and play with us!
