Andrea Bagioli wins the Gran Piemonte trophy , a 152 km professional race from Borgofranco d'Ivrea to Favria, beating Hirschi and Aranburu in the sprint. Fourth place for Martin who had tried to anticipate in the last kilometre.
The action taken about 17 km from the finish line by Marc Hirschi was decisive and he managed to take away the leading quartet. Behind them a trio made up of Ganna , Rui Costa and Zimmermann fails to close the gap and closes at 11".
