Matteo Jorgenson is changing his goals for the 2026 season: after good results on the cobbles in recent years, the Team Visma Lease a Bike rider will focus on other races.

The American will race a lot in Italy, especially in the first part of the season, with Strade Bianche and Tirreno-Adriatico circled in red, while his participation in Milan-Sanremo will be in support of other teammates, such as Van Aert and Brennan.

The 1999-born rider will not participate in the northern races, where he has been a key figure since 2023, with some strong finishes and a victory at the 2024 Dwars. Instead, he will focus on the Ardennes, where he currently has very little experience and no significant results.

Jorgenson will then ride the Tour de France , most likely as Vingegaard's luxury domestique, while he could have more personal space in the final part of the season, between the World Championships and Lombardy .
