Paris-Roubaix organisers launch new test to boost safety

New changes have been made to the Paris-Roubaix route, particularly in the section preceding the Forest of Arenberg , one of the most challenging and important cobbled sectors of the third Monument Classic of the season.

Last year, the inclusion of a chicane before the entrance to the Forest caused controversy, in order to reduce the speed of the group and prevent cyclists from approaching the terrible stones of Arenberg at speeds exceeding 50 km/h. The experiment was of little use, in fact, in 2024, thanks to the work of Van der Poel 's Alpecin, the group was already quite selected at that point of the race and there was no sprint to take the Forest in the lead.

This year the organizers decided to remove the controversial chicane and add two pairs of 90° bends in the hundreds of meters preceding the cobbled sector.

You can see the new route map in the news photo; we will see if it will have the desired effects and, above all, how the group will arrive at this stage of the race.
