Great teamwork from Team Jayco AlUla, with Adam Yates defeated.

Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco AlUla) wins the Muscat Classic, Proseries race from Al Mouj to Al Bustan (176.2km).

The first part of the race was characterised by the solo breakaway of Veistroffer (Lotto-Intermarché), with the Frenchman acquiring a maximum advantage around 6 minutes in, but progressively losing his margin, until he was caught on the Hamriyah climb.

The race was decided on the final climb, the Al Jissah one, with an initial push from Double, followed by an attack from Adam Yates in the toughest section, scoring double figures. The Briton was followed only by two men from Team Jayco AlUla: Plapp and Schmid .

The three crest the summit with a reassuring lead over the rest of the pack. Plapp tries to pull away on the final flat stretch, but Yates closes in, allowing the Australian to put himself at the disposal of his teammate. Yates attempts to launch a sprint, but Schmid exploits his greater explosiveness and easily wins.
Scaroni beats the rest of the group and finishes 4th.
