Vingegaard returns, great fight for the podium
Less than 24 hours after the end of the Strade Bianche, the Paris-Nice begins, a week-long stage race that promises to be a spectacle.
It starts on Sunday 9 March with the arrival in Le Perray en Yvelines, a rolling stage whose arrival will award the first leader's jersey.
Then there will be space for the sprinters with the Bellegarde fraction while the third stage will already be decisive: it is a team time trial, in Nevers, of 28.4 km. The first uphill finish will be on the fourth stage, in La Loge des Gardes, while attention will be paid to the fifth stage which has many ups and downs and the summit finish in La Cote Saint Andrè.
Just enough time to catch your breath for the sixth stage of Berre-L'Etang, then the last two important stages with an uphill finish in Auron and the circuit around Nice with four mountain grand prix.
The main favorite for the final victory is Jonas Vingegaard who will be able to count on the help of the last winner of the race, Matteo Jorgenson. Visma Lease a Bike will have to watch out for the Uae Emirates of Joao Almeida and Brandon McNulty. For the general classification we also mention Ben O'Connor of Jayco AlUla, Mattias Skjelmose of Lidl Trek, Aleksandr Vlasov of Red Bull Bora, Thymen Arensman of Ineos Grenadiers, Santiago Buitrago of Bahrain Victorious, and Felix Gall of Decathlon.
Mads Pedersen, Michael Matthews and Julian Alaphilippe will be competing for some stage victories.
