After the 2022 cycling season, it's time to take stock. Even at Fantacycling, where arriving first on a young (and low-cost) rider can make the difference in the Championship. Our community of fantasy managers is always very attentive to young promises and this is the Fantacycling ranking with the best Under-25 for fantapoints of the 2022 season

1️) Tadej Pogacar (6632 fantapoints) - The King of Fantacycling in every category, even among the young. The yellow jersey is missing in Paris but gives points from February to October, winning both one-day and short-stage races. It doesn't take many words, simply the runner who will be paid the most in the 2023 auctions

2️) Remco Evenepoel (5034 fantapoints) - A surprise? Not for his talent but for what he showed in 2021 (there were only 871 fantapoints achieved, after the bad injury of 2020). Over 5000 fantapoints and a price jumped from 32 to 49 at the end of the year that make him one of the most anticipated riders in the next season

3️) Sergio Higuita (2699 fantapoints) - Fast climber, the Colombian turned out to be an important underdog at Fantacycling. Catalunya wins, also places well in one-day races and prepares the assault for a great lap in 2023

4️) Biniam Girmay (1956 fantapoints) - The first African to win a stage at the Giro d'Italia is just off the podium in the best Under-25s of 2022. 1956 fantapoints are a lot, especially for those who believed in him before the start of the season. The victory in Gent has definitively consecrated him

5️) Joao Almeida (1938 fantapoints) - Let's be honest, we expected a little more from the Portuguese in this 2022: in 2021 the fantapoints had been a thousand more (2880). Thanks to his retirement from the Giro after stage 14 when the podium seemed within reach, his season is no longer taking off. He confirms himself as a solid rider (5th at the Vuelta) on whom he can bet also in 2023

6️) Juan Ayuso (1912 fantapoints) - The youngest rider in this ranking. At the beginning of the season we had recommended him as a possible revelation and the 1912 fantapoints are many: podium at the first Vuelta of his career and a lot of confidence for 2023. Still destined to win many rankings (and therefore score points) as "best young"

7️) Thymen Arensman (1898 fantapoints) - Precious at the Giro, convincing at the Vuelta. Many fantapoints made with almost always gregarious tasks on the shoulders. The move to Ineos makes him a candidate to experience 2023 as an absolute protagonist and his price will inevitably rise in auctions

8️) Ethan Hayter (1872 fantapoints) - A sprinter-chronoman-climber. The Briton convinced him in the first part of the season and many fantamanagers had bet on him for the definitive consecration to the Vuelta, but disappointing expectations in Spain. He remains an interesting young man capable of scoring points on different paths

9️) Fred Wright (1451 fantapoints) - In terms of value for money he is the best youngster of 2022. Extremely solid rider, capable of scoring points also in the Tour and especially in the Vuelta as a sprinter. One of those names that in the 2023 auctions could remain hidden but give a lot of satisfaction

10) Jasper Philipsen (1437 fantapoints) - Those who expected the final consecration in 2022 were disappointed (in 2021 they had totaled 1822 fantapoints). Green jersey in some minor races, he “saved” the season with two victories in the Tour (especially the one on the Champs-Élysées), but finished second in the ranking reserved for sprinters.
