Samuele Privitera crashed in Pontey during the first stage of the Giro della Valle d'Aosta (2.2U). He lost his helmet in the accident and crashed into a gate at high speed.

The young athlete, born in 2005 and currently playing for the Jayco team, was immediately rescued by doctors who resuscitated him and admitted him to the Parini hospital in Aosta.

Unfortunately, the boy didn't make it and died late yesterday evening. Meanwhile, the organizers had decided to cancel the second stage scheduled for July 17th.
