Pidcock second at Colfiorito, Ganna remains leader

Andrea Vendrame won the third stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, from Follonica to Colfiorito, 239 km.

The longest part of the race was affected by rain and cold. On the long final climb, definitely rideable, attacks by Ben Healy and Richard Carapaz but nobody makes the difference with Filippo Ganna who controls the situation without problems and tries 3 km from the finish line, but is caught by the group led by Mathieu Van der Poel.

At the finish line, Vendrame is the fastest in a very large sprint. Behind the Italian Decathlon rider are Thomas Pidcock and Romain Gregoire.

Ganna remains firmly in the lead of the overall standings.
