Breakaway to the finish line, Pogacar and Vingegaard on the podium of the day
Thymen Arensman won stage 14 of the Tour de France, 182.6 km from Pau to Luchon-Superbagneres.
The final stage in the Pyrenees opened with the retirement of Remco Evenepoel at the start of the Col du Tourmalet, while Mattias Skjelmose also retired after a crash.
After several attempts, a breakaway broke out, including Arensman, Lenny Martinez, Tobias Johannessen, Einer Rubio, Simon Yates, Sepp Kuss, and Carlos Rodriguez. The Frenchman from Bahrain Victorious won the first two mountain categorized climbs, but on the Peyresourde climb, he was caught and passed by Arensman, who attempted the feat.
The Ineos rider managed to maintain a good lead and manage it on the final climb, where Vingegaard attempted an attack on Pogacar with three laps to go. But the yellow jersey remained in the Dane's slipstream, clearly beating him in the sprint for second place.
