Mathieu Van der Poel is ready to return to cyclocross racing. The date is not yet known (it will be revealed by the end of the month, during the presentation of the World Championships in Hulst next February), but the Dutch champion will return to action "in the mud" during the Christmas period, which is packed with cyclocross events.
Christoph Roodhooft, team manager of Alpecin-Deceuninck , confirmed this to Sporza: “We will see him somewhere around Christmas,” he said. Roodhooft during the live broadcast of the X2O Trofee in Hamme.
According to Wielerflits, Van der Poel is likely to be in the race from December 20th when the races will take place in Antwerp and Koksijde (the following day), both World Cup races.
A seasonal debut that would be identical to last year's, when Van Der Poel returned to the race in the World Championship round in Zonhoven on December 22nd.
