Too much waiting among the big names who are mocked by the Belgian
Ilan Van Wilder wins the Tre Valli Varesine professional race of 196.5 km starting from Busto Arsizio and arriving in Varese.
A trio made up of Kelderman, Barguil and Calzoni tried to liven up the race by attacking about thirty kilometers from the end.
At -12 km the big names move with Van Wilder who goes solo and takes advantage of the group of favorites with Roglic and Pogacar. The Belgian manages to hold on to the lead in the last kilometers of the climb and takes the Tre Valli Varesine as his. Roglic and Pogacar finished fourth and fifth, sixth was Zana, the best Italian.
