The Dane commented on his success in the second stage of La Vuelta

Jonas Vingegaard has shown great determination in this Vuelta and has lived up to expectations. The Dane, after winning the second stage in Limone Piemonte , expressed his satisfaction:

"It's better not to waste the chance to win a stage," Vingegaard said. "When I saw the opportunity, of course, I took it. I'm very happy to have achieved the victory today. It's been a while since my last victory, obviously. But I'm very happy with how I felt and how the team performed today."

Vingegaard had a classic day of stage and leader's jersey performances, narrowly beating Giulio Ciccone : "To be honest, I didn't think I'd be able to overtake him until we got to the last corner," the Dane said. "But that corner was a little longer than I thought. Luckily, I managed to pass him before the finish."

The captain of the sight was also involved in a fall due to the slippery road made by the rain: "We went down quite suddenly, but I don't feel like I was in any particular pain," said Vingegaard. "I have a few grazes, obviously, but, since the road was very wet, I practically went away sliding on the asphalt and I didn't suffer any particular injuries."
