Biniam Girmay (NSN Cycling Team) wins the first stage of the Volta Comunitat Valenciana, 160km from Segorbe to Torreblanca.

The race explodes on Puerto Los Madronos , with the 4 escapees caught by the group and with a crash that splits the peloton.
There are still 19 riders at the front, with the best in terms of the general classification, 20" ahead of the rest of the group.

Red Bull Bora took charge of setting the pace, but at 20 km, Evenepoel's teammates stopped pushing and Pellizzari broke away alone. However, from behind, all the riders who had previously dropped back, including the sprinters, returned, except for Pedersen, who crashed and retired.

Pellizzari held on to the lead until 2 km from the finish and the group launched itself towards the bunch sprint set up by Uno X.
Turner launches the sprint, but Girmay takes the center of the road and resists the comeback of Marit and Lonardi who finish on the podium.
