Remember to line up your formation before the start

It is a more demanding route than the Quebec one which took place on Friday that awaits the runners at the start on Sunday 10 September (departure at 4.15pm Italian time) in the GP Montreal , won last year by Tadej Pogacar, absent from the 2023 edition.

There are 221.4 kilometers to cover for almost 5,000 meters of altitude difference with 18 laps of a city circuit characterized by four climbs including the final ascent towards the finish line of Avenue du Parc (560 meters at 4%).

This time some of the favorites change: we feel like putting the twins Adam and Simon Yates in pole position, from UAE Emirates and Jayco AlUla respectively, ready to battle on Canadian roads. But not only that: we also mention Mattias Skjelmose of Lidl Trek, Tiesj Benoot of Jumbo Visma, Matej Mohoric and Pello Bilbao of Bahrain Victorious, Neilson Powless of Ef Education EasyPost, Valentin Madouas of Groupama Fdj and a revived Julian Alaphilippe of Soudal Quick Step, good ninth in Quebec.

Among the possible surprises we can consider for a good placement the names of Pavel Sivakov of Ineos Grenadiers, Brandon McNulty of Uae, Jay Hindley of Bora hansgrohe and Matteo Jorgenson of Movistar.

However, slightly faster men are not left out. Those who are resistant, like Michael Matthews (already winner of this race) and Corbin Strong (second in Quebec), could achieve a good result.
