Dorian Godon wins the 2026 Gran Piemonte from Asti to Bra. The Frenchman from Ineos sprints ahead of Charming and Bettiol. Del Toro ignites the race with 18 km to go, and only Finn Fisher Black (Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe) can match his pace.
Behind, Neilson Powless (EF) tries to pull away, but world champion McNulty and Narvaez , Del Toro's teammates at UAE, stop the counter-attackers' actions.
On the Morra climb, thirteen kilometers from the finish, Del Toro attempted another attack and managed to gain a lead of about a hundred meters over Fisher Black; while the counterattacking group was about 30 seconds behind.
Fisher Black, he worked, he didn't give up, and with a great descent he caught up with Del Toro again with nine kilometers to go.
In the counterattacking group , Team Ineos, Astana, Movistar and Jayco AlUla are giving the push at the front and with four kilometres to go the gap is only 13”.
Del Toro and Fisher Black were caught with 1.2 km to go, and the race entered a sprint. The Astana riders took the lead on the final bend, with Bettiol setting the pace for Uruguayan Silva, who, however, made a mistake and crashed. The Italian found himself in the sprint, but was unable to fend off the resurgent Charming and, more importantly, Godon, who took the race in the final meters.
