Who were the riders who made the most in terms of points and cost
Fantacycling statistics are back, this time with a focus on the Giro d'Italia won by Jay Hindley . Let's start with the usual analysis on the fantapunti ratio for the credits spent where there is no shortage of surprises: in terms of the number of points obtained (1439), Richard Carapaz , second at the final goal, totaled 32.70 fantapunti for each credit spent (it cost 44 fantamillioni) .
Obviously, those who had Jay Hindley in the team made the big hit: the Australian from Bora scored 1395 points and cost half of Carapaz (22). For him 63.41 fantapunti per credit . Awesome.
Followed by the king of sprinters and cyclamen jersey Arnaud Demare with a booty of 878 points and a cost of 26 ghost million. In total 33.77 points per credit. Then there is Mikel Landa , who finished on the third step of the podium: the Spaniard boasts 875 points and a cost of 30 million for a total of 29.17 million per credit.
And before Mathieu Van der Poel , winner of one stage and protagonist of many escape attempts (733 points scored at a cost of 54 for 13.57 million euros per credit) there are two of the surprises of the 2022 Giro: Koen Bouwman won two stages and the blue jersey of the climbers. At the cost of 3 fantamillioni, he took home 778 fantapunti and a whopping 259.33 fantapunti per credit. To do better was Juan Pedro Lopez who wore the pink jersey for several days. The Trek Segafredo Spaniard only cost 2 credits and scored 774 points. The calculation has made a few, but good, fantamanager rejoice: 387 fantapunti for each credit spent.
We have already talked about the ideal formation for the Giro, that is the one that scored the most points, in our direct and columns. But let's take a look at the teams that scored the most points at Fantacycling during the three weeks of racing. The Bora hansgrohe confirmed its leadership with 2824 points thanks to the top 10 of Hindley and Emanuel Buchmann as well as the good performances of Lennard Kamna , winner of one stage. Second the Bahrain Victorius of Landa, Pello Bilbao and Santiago Buitrago with 2716, third the Jumbo Visma of Bouwman and Edoardo Affini at 2037.
Followed by the surprise Intermarchè Wanty Gobert (1975) by Ian Hirt and Domenico Pozzovivo and the Trek Segafredo by Lopez (1912). Disappointment Ineos , usually the dominator of stage races. The grenadier team scored 1862 points. The last? Movistar (800), Lotto Soudal (777) and Israel (445).
